My passion for working with birthing women and their families began in 1974 when, as a nursing student, I saw my first birth . The experience was a "Yes! This is it!" kind of moment. Many years later, I am an RN, a Lamaze educator, a Lamaze educator-trainer and a doula (DONA) which feeds this passion.
I believe childbirth classes should be fun and experiential so that is how I like to present the information. My classes are never boring! I offer refreshers for experienced parents and can provide instruction to women who are expecting multiples and those who are on bedrest.
My services also include providing labor support and postpartum doula services (in-home help after the baby is born). Helping a new mom with breast feeding is another way I can be a resource to a woman and her family. This is part of my postpartum doula services or I can assist a mother and baby who just need a little help to get lactation going successfully.

Childbirth preparation classes, both private or group, are held in my home on Bainbridge Island (convenient to Poulsbo, Silverdale and Bremerton and a lovely ferry ride away from Seattle). Alternate sites can also be arranged for group classes (talk to me!) All services can be provided in both Kitsap and King Counties.
Postpartum doula service, as well as breastfeeding support, is offered in the home or by phone. Birth Doula service is also available in both King and Kitsap counties.
